One of Germany’s eldest MMA event series returns to action on April 3rd, when FFC: Pride & Glory will take place in Köthen’s Heinz-Fricke-Halle. Promoter Marko Zschörners puts on another exciting mixed fight event, presenting MMA, boxing and kickboxing bouts on the same card.
Although the card isn’t finalized, yet, some interesting bouts have already been announced by the promotion. Almost 42-year old MMA-Veteran Maik Stumbries will return to the ring against young prospect Benjamin Brinsa. Stumbries retired from fighting in 2009 at La Onda’s Manto Cup and made a surprising return to the ring last year, at the Merseburger Fight Night. He will have his hands full with Brinsa, who is undefeated in his six fights, all of them being early stoppages (3 TKO, 3 Submission). The standout from Leipzig is one of the hottest fighters coming out of eastern Germany.
After a year-long layoff, „Ironhead“ Norman Jendritzyk returns to the against Lars Rauschenbach. He lived up his name in last year’s FFC “Bad Blood” event, fighting a gruesome match against Czech powerhouse Pavel Botka. After licking his his wounds for almost a year now, Jendritzyk is set to return to the ring in explosive fashion.
Also on the card, local hero Steven Kitzing will face kickboxing-ace Marek Ljatschinski in a K-1 bout. Further, Zschörner promised to finally put on a MMA heavyweight championship fight, that has been in the making for years now. No participants have been named, yet.
