Vision FC wants to be a platform for tomorrow's stars

Vision Fighting Championship started it off with a few individuals setting the goal to create yet another platform for Swedish mixed martial arts, as well as MMA-fans around the world. With a mixture of individuals with knowledge of good business decisions, fighting experience and journalistic work the ship started sailing calmly but surely. This all started out early 2010 and on 28th of August we had reached a milestone for our promotion. We managed to go through with our first event Vision Fighting Championship: The Beginning. Similar to the name of our event, we were beginners. We learned many good and useful things during this very first event.

When I (Keyvan Zarea-Ganji, responsible for public relations, marketing and press) asked the fighters who participated in the first Vision FC, on their view after the first event; there were many positive replies. They liked how they were treated in a detailed fashion with accommodation, general needs when it came to cutting weight and food. The general view from many was that they had never been through such professional “care-taking” up until being part of Vision FC. But we decided we wouldn’t stop there. We sat down and decided to do everything better than last time. We are all fight fans and we are looking at this in a business fashion but also because we love the sport.  Our goal is to be an even more acknowledged organization across the world but mainly we focus on the Nordic part of Europe. We are realistic and we know we have to work cautiously and step by step to reach our goals and make reality of our dreams.

Our CEO and head of competition, a very reasonable and hardworking individual by the name of Ronnie Johansson puts it like this: "What differs us from the Zone and Superior Challenge is that we have a divided fight card. We put lot of though and effort into making sure that our fight card is mixed. A fresh air of new and upcoming stars as well as established stars and veterans. I believe it’s healthy to have a good composition on the fight card to acknowledge the youth of this sport. Because after all, the youth of today is tomorrows future."

Our main event is former UFC fighter Per Eklund versus Thomas "Moon Lee" Hytten. The thought behind this is to have these guys fight yet again since they have a history, having fought before. Now Hytten has been very clear that he plans to make Eklunds life extremely tough during the fight. Hytten has informed us that he spent 3,5 months over at Xtreme Couture training in a very intensed fashion. He also claims “to have Eklunds mojo”. This due to the fact that he has trained along with Evan Dunham who actually was the one defeating Eklund in the Swedes last UFC fight, being the reason of given the pink slip out of the organization.

Eklund on the other hand is according to many who train with him, in a very good shape physically and mentally. The Swede is back training at one of Swedens finest MMA club Pancrase Gym and has done a thorough and effective training camp for his upcoming tussle with Thomas Moon Lee Hytten. Our matchmaker Jani Lax is pleased to have Eklund fight at our event amongst the rest of European events available to us. This is obviously a big statement for our organization to have Eklund make his comeback over at Vision FC.

Other fight of interest is the bout between upcoming star Alen Mansour from Hilti Stockholm, fighting out of Eskilstuna. The Swedish powerhouse goes up against another powerhouse from neighbor country Finland, Timo Karttunen. This is one of those fights were both fighters will go at it and trade from the very start. Mansour who is making his second pro appearance on Vision FC, just like his debut, has quickly risen to be one of the future promising stars in the light heavy weight division. This fight however is -97 kilograms and neither fighter would have a problem to meet the demand of getting down to -93 which is the unified weight of light heavy weight.
