This coming Saturday, Golden Glory fighter Errol Zimmerman will face Germany’s Nikolaj Falin. It will be the K-1 standout’s first fight on German soil. We talked to him before the big fight.
GroundandPound: You will face Nikolaj Falin on August 28th in Merseburg, Germany. You took the fight on relatively short notice, tell us how that came about.
Errol Zimmerman: My management arranged that, I'm always ready for a fight.
How good do you know your opponent and his style?
I know that he got knocked out the last time he stood in the ring and that he fought Gokhan Saki. I don’t have to know more.
Did Saki give you a few clues on how to fight Falin?
I just want to fight, I'm ready. I didn't talk to Saki, he is on vacation.
Did you watch some of his past fights?
I never watch my opponent’s fights, I follow my own game plan.
This will be your first fight on German soil, and thus a very special moment for the German fans – for you, too?
I will give the German people a wonderful knockout so they will enjoy the fight.
Have you ever been to Germany?
Yes, I have been to Germany, but I have never fought here.
The Japanese K-1 organization is going through some troubles right now. If that wouldn’t have been the case, would that fight against Falin still have happened?
I always want to fight and Golden Glory always manages to get me fights – I never say no an opponent.
What can we expect from Errol Zimmerman in the Future?
You will see even more knock-outs by me. I always give the fans what they want: a great show.
